Junko: Hey Tomas. Are you okay…?
Dr. Tomas: I am so frustrated and upset with people posting negative stuff.
Junko: Who are they?
Dr. Tomas: I have no idea! Look at this. On social media, people can use fake names and can throw out fake info, hurting people by posting negative comments! I become obsessed with what others say about me or my posts, I constantly compare myself with others, being manipulated by false information. Cyberbullying can easily happen on social media.
Junko: I know social media like Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok. [Slide of Facebook, Instagram & TikTok logos on top] They are very popular today and it is easy to connect with people without having to travel. But you must set boundaries to protect your mental health.
Dr. Tomas: If you think it does apply to you, then you are welcome to our workshop about “how to set healthy boundaries with people online.” This workshop is to learn how to protect your mental well-being while using social media. [Pointing to Facebook, Instagram & TikTok logos to the right]
Junko: This workshop will be held at GLAD Auditorium on Thursday Feb 27 from 10 am to noon (12 pm). It is presented in ASL. We will provide voice interpreters.
