Hello all, Â
Â
My name is Dr. Patricia Hughes, and I am the CEO of the Greater Los Angeles Agency on Deafness (GLAD). In addition to GLAD, I also oversee other agencies, including CODIE in Riverside, TCGLAD in Ventura, OC Deaf in Cypress, GLAD in Los Angeles, and B-GLAD in Bakersfield, along with the EDD/Employment Services offices in addition to LifeSigns Interpreting Services, and various other programs. Â
Â
To this date, I have served for 22 years, but in June 2026, it will be 23 years. I’d like to thank everyone for supporting our organization. Â
Â
It is with a heavy heart that I’d like to announce my last day as CEO of GLAD will be June 30, 2026. This decision was not made lightly, but I believe it is time to pass it on to the next new CEO.Â
Â
I have full confidence that the Board of Directors of GLAD will find the right replacement as a successor to the CEO. Â
Â
I am committed to fully supporting the Board of Directors to ensure a smooth transition between me and the new CEO. I will work closely with the Board during the search process.Â
Â
In the meantime, I will continue to oversee all programs and services to ensure that operations run smoothly until my departure on June 30. Â
Â
It has been invaluable to me since I loved working here because of the great staff, which I couldn’t ask for a better team, staff, Board of Directors, consumers, and the community.
