In 1991, The Eagle Rock Association sought to have the building designated as a historical landmark, recognizing its unique architectural significance. GLAD acquired the building in 1993 and transformed it into the Deaf Community Center. Following a major renovation, and with invaluable support from the S. Mark Taper Foundation, the City of Los Angeles, HUB, and other key partners, GLAD successfully preserved the building’s original charm while modernizing its facilities. This photo series showcases some of the timeless features that make this building a true gem in the community.
