The Historic Journey of Orange County Deaf Equal Access Foundation

In 1979, OC DEAF began as an outreach program of the Greater Los Angeles Agency on Deafness (GLAD), paving the way for equal access in Orange County. In 1980 the California State Legislature established the Office of Deaf Access (ODA) to ensure government services met the needs of the deaf and hard of hearing.

By 1985, the Orange County office became OC DEAF, standing as a vital advocate for communication access and equality ever since! Over the years, it has evolved and grown, adapting to community needs and continuing its mission of equal access for all.
