GLAD Career Day Coordinator – Los Angeles, California

Position: GLAD Career Day Coordinator
Reports to: Deputy Director
Location: GLAD (Los Angeles)
Classification: Full-Time Employee
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Career Day Coordinator will:

  1. Develop and coordinate a major event and possibly other events
  2. Develop logistics and advertising plans
  3. Coordinate with vendors, panelists, and others to make the events successful
  4. Order supplies and equipment for events
  5. Work closely with various GLAD staff in promoting events
  6. Design resource material packages
  7. Do final checks prior to and on day of event to ensure everything meets the standards
  8. Oversee the events and be proactive and be prepared to resolve issues relating to events
  9. Develop surveys, collect data for reports and submit final reports
  10. Be available for some weekends as needed for the day of events

QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Fluency in American Sign Language is required
  2. Bachelor’s Degree is required
  3. Have experience developing and coordinating an event
  4. Familiar with ADA laws and accommodations requirements
  5. Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
  6. Strong time management skills and problem-solving ability
  7. Must be a flexible self-starter and a resourceful team player; detail-oriented with strong organizational skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills
  8. Be able to document activities accurately and prepare reports; Prioritize and
  9. handle multiple tasks and sometimes with competing deadline
  10. Must maintain the highest level of confidentiality. Demonstrated ability to perform professionally. Punctuality and reliability are a must
  11. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be knowledgeable about Deaf, hard of hearing, deafblind, and deaf disabled communities
 
Salary Range:  $40,000 a year
